Mark Jenkins
Mark Jenkins writes movie reviews, filmmaker interviews, and related essays for www.reeldc.com, which covers the Washington cinema scene with an emphasis on independent, foreign, and repertory fare. From 1986 to 2007, he wrote about film regularly for Washington City Paper. His reviews have been syndicated to many alternative weeklies, including Monterey County Weekly and the Santa Fe Reporter. He has written about movies for the Washington Post, the Cleveland Plain-Dealer, Baltimore City Paper, and Baltimore Magazine. None of his favorite directors speak English as their native language.
Jenkins also writes music reviews and features for the Washington Post, WAMU-FM, Time Out New York, Harp, and Blender, and has served as a writer and consulting editor for four editions of the "Time Out Guide to Washington." He is the co-author, with Mark Andersen, of "Dance of Days: Two Decades of Punk in the Nation's Capital."
