Kevin Powers
Kevin Powers has written for a number of online publications surrounding film, including spending a couple of years authoring news and reviews for FirstShowing.net. In the summer of 2009, he, along with fellow DC-area critic Tim Plant, launched Popscorn [pop-skawrn], a weekly destination for "a salty look at movies." Ever thoughtful and informed, Kevin's perspective on film skews toward the acerbic, either by virtue of his playfully nefarious nature his other website is Evilry.com or the quality of Hollywood's output. Overcast films like "The Wrestler" or "Stranger Than Fiction", or a thoughtful gem like "The Nines", sate his appetite for creative film-making, while the likes of "Beauty Shop" and "Fast and the Furious" serve as secret, junk indulgences.
When not attending a screening or wading through his ever-growing Blu-ray collection, Kevin tends to his day job as an interactive producer at a local creative agency.
