Joe Barber

September 19, 2011

Joe BarberWe are very saddened to report that our friend, colleague, and member of WAFCA, Joe Barber, passed away over the weekend. He was a thoughtful, dedicated, and remarkably knowledgeable critic who always had insightful commentary on a wide range of cultural events. As WTOP's longtime arts editor, he was one of the most hard-working and trusted guides to what to see and what to miss in the Washington area. He was also a very good friend to all of us in the arts community. He will be missed.

WTOP has a lovely tribute to him on their site and I am sure there will be more to come. His memory will be a blessing to all of us who will do better as we try to live up to his example.
