Cynthia Fuchs
Cynthia Fuchs is Film-TV editor for PopMatters.com, film reviewer for Time to Play Magazine and Philadelphia Citypaper. She pays rent by serving as director of Film & Media Studies at George Mason University, where she is also Associate Professor of English, African American Studies, and Film & Video Studies (a documentary-making major). She has published numerous academic articles (on Buffy, Shakira, Jay-Z, Brad Pitt, Taxi Driver, and Michael Jackson among other topics). She edited Spike Lee: Interviews (University of Mississippi Press 2002), and co-edited Iraq War Cultures, with Joe Lockard (Peter Lang 2009) and Between the Sheets, In the Streets: Queer, Lesbian, and Gay Documentary, with Chris Holmlund (University of Minnesota 1997). She is currently writing a book on post-9/11 war documentaries.
